Here's What We Were Working on in September 2021
Pre Caching All Pages with One Click
Caching is a vital component to make sure that people, and Google, see the site run fast. When changes are made to the site, the cache must be flushed in order to get the old, non-changed version off of the servers. Once the cache is flushed, however, the next person or crawler to check the site will see an uncached version of the site which will be slow. It will only ever affect that first person to check the page after flushing the cache, but that’s one possible booking that may bounce. Instead of having to wait for users to view each page in order for servers to then cache the pages, we can now pre-cache all the pages of a site once it’s cache is flushed. This means that we can have servers re-crawl every page, and cache it, right after we purge the cache for any changes. Now, that first user won’t see an uncached page. Sub Footer Banner
Similar to the banners we can make under the menu, we can now add permanent banners directly below the footers of the sites. These have the same styling options as the sub-menu banners. If you would like us to add a sub-footer banner to your site, please let us know!
Sticky Tabs Color/Clickability
Sticky tabs allow people to toggle between sections of content on tour pages, which is great for mobile. For some users, the option to toggle may not be outright obvious so we’ve adjusted the tabs’ ability to help with this. Now, the color will highlight their current tab and the difference in color denotes the ability to switch between the tabs. This should clear up confusion from users.
