Here's What We Were Working on in March 2022
Google Events Schema

This additional schema allows us to mark up your page to be eligible for ranking in Google’s Events searches. In order to be properly used, however, the tour/event you wish to place the schema on has to have a single start date and a single end date, so this schema cannot be used for regularly scheduled tours. It is possible to change the date once it has passed as well, but the new date won’t start to rank until it’s changed. For example, let’s say you have one event in spring and fall. We start it with the schema set to the spring dates and in that time, Google Events search will not show the fall dates. Please note as well that some booking softwares will automatically take care of integrating your eligible tours into Google Events, please reach out to them in the case of questions there. If, however, you have any questions on if your tours are eligible for this schema, or if you want us to set it up for you, please contact TigerCare.
Map Location Pin Options

This feature allows us to add options to expand information for location pins on maps. We can create a template that can follow the format of anything possible in a normal section on the site – and then link that template to the location pin. When a user clicks, we can then open the template in a popup or new tab. For examples, you could fill the template with a street view picture of the location or maybe even some historical information about the location. Please note that this update is specifically with the Custom Bing Maps Add On that’s already available with the theme – it does not work with Google Maps. If you would like us to add this feature to maps and location pins on your site, please contact TigerCare.
Sub-Category Mega Menu Tiles
This feature allows us to expand on the looks of the mega menu. Currently only the main categories in the mega menu receive a tile – an image and title in one – and the sub-categories show up below as listed items. Now, upon mouseover of a main category it can pull up the sub-category items that will all have their own tiles as well. For sites with many tours and choices, these extra images are a great way to sway decisions and helps site visitors be more decisive. If you have any questions about mega menus, or already have one and would like us to implement this feature please contact TigerCare.
Automated Modal Windows

While the name can seem a bit technical, this feature basically allows us to add theme-styled popups to your site! We can create a template which will be the content of the popup and then set conditions and triggers. Currently, the possible conditions are on certain pages (land on tour page for example), or when people go from one page to another (tour page to contact us for example). Current triggers include inactivity, scrolling to the bottom of a page, and after submission of an embedded form. We are working on adding more conditions and triggers as well. If you have an idea of condition or trigger that you would like to see, or would like to place a popup on your site please contact TigerCare.
