Here's What We Were Working on in April 2021

Rotating Images in a Row on Mobile

Cut scrolling time down on mobile with this new feature. While on desktop, it’s a row of pictures – commonly we’ll se people put logos of partners in a row for example. On mobile these used to show up vertically, so users would have to scroll past a lot (depending on how many images are there) in order to get further down. Now, you can keep all the images without worrying about the length of the page on mobile. The image above shows how it looks on desktop, and the if to the left shows how it will show up on mobile. If you want to put this on your site, let us know!

Site-Side Caching

You may have seen some slow site times this month, which was being caused by an error where the servers were not able to cache the site (store a saved version) so every time anyone came to the site the server would have to resend the site piece by piece, rather than sending a version that it had already saved. To solve this problem, we’ve added site-side caching specifically to our custom theme, so even if there’s an error on the server, the site itself will load as a saved version rather than piece by piece. This is definitely a basic explanation, and if you would like to know more please let us know, but in the end, the site speed should be back to normal, if not faster. We thank you for your patience with us while working on this fix!
